Today we are talking about what happens when you can’t declutter anymore during the 30-Day Minimalist Challenge and what you can do instead.
What is The 30-Day Minimalist Challenge?
If you haven’t yet read the post about what is the 30-Day Minimalist Challenge and How does it work? I have it linked here so you can check it out. Along with what I got rid of during my week one of the challenge!
When you can’t declutter anymore
But this week’s question is what to do when you can’t declutter anymore?
First I would like to say, that it’s ok to stop the challenge and pick it up at a later date. This will help if you feel overwhelmed and need a break. During that time you can assess if you are really using some of the things that you second-guessed at.
Next, I would also like to say that it’s perfectly fine if you do not make it to day-30. Decluttering as much as you can is a reward in itself!
I struggled during week 4, starting at day 24 so I used a few tips listed below to help stretch me as far as I could
Bring in a Partner!
Bringing in a partner to help you out can stretch you so many more days. It’s a plus if they live with you because that increases the number of things leaving your home.
Pets Come in Handy!
On day 23 my cat Willy really saved my butt! I looked all over the house and my brain was just fired. I could not for the love of me think of anything else, so I dug into Willy’s toy basket and picked out ones I knew he never touched.
Don’t Forget Your Car!
I realized one day while I was driving how much stuff I had sitting in the car that I was not using. Thankfully this was during the 30-day Minimalist Challenge and not after I gave up.
