Today I’m organizing my apartment bathroom. If you are looking for some small bathroom organization inspiration then keep on reading. If you are looking for any organization inspiration wait till the end to see the other bloggers I did a collab with on organizing other rooms.
We moved into our apartment about 4 months ago. When we first got here I kinda just threw everything into the cabinets. Thinking I could just worry about it later.
Well, it’s later….
Our apartment bathroom came with a base cabinet under our sink, one wall cabinet over the toilet, and a medicine cabinet on the side of the wall next to the mirror.
Most of these areas were sufficient for what we have and because they came with shelves inside them I could make them work.
However, the base cabinet under the sink is our main problem. I needed a solution that could be cheap, simple, and easy to put into place.
So I went to Target (my happy place). And picked up some plastic sliding drawers. I got two; one for my stuff and one for my husband’s things.
Luckily they both fit under each side for the cabinet.
I took my trusty label maker and labeled mine first. I separated my things into 3 main categories. Face, Body, and Hair. Whatever bulky items I had I just placed them on top of the drawers.
For my husband’s side, I labeled his 3 categories into Tools, Products, and Shaving. Just because that’s what all his items seem to be.
Over the toilet, next to the toilet paper I had some extra space. So I thought this would be a good area to store my extra smaller things.
When I was at Target I also happened to pick up a mini sliding drawer set. Here I labeled them Hair ties, Clips and Pins, and Makeup.
This smaller one was perfect for my tiny items like bobby pins that could get lost or make the lager drawer set messy.
I don’t own a lot of makeup because I hardly wear it but was happily surprised to see it all fit into one drawer.
Touches of Decor
I added a few touches to update the room and bring it all together on my shoestring budget. First I updated my hand soap bottle and added a cute label I found on amazon. I used the same bottle that came in the pack of dispensers that I bought when I upgraded my shower.
Fun fact; I make my own bathroom spray using fragrance oils and water. So I already owned the small amber glass bottle (to the left of the picture). This is what we use when we want any room to smell nice.
I added another amber glass container to hold q-tips or other things I feel I might want to store on the counter.
Lastly, I added a mat on the floor to catch the water that slips when we come out of the shower. It’s not an organization item but it’s what my bathroom needed.
