For the past 8 years, I've been trying to figure out how can I make my home look and feel like an old country home. Somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. Yet incorporate the other styles I have, like Minimalist or Traditional.
I spent thousands of hours scrolling through Pinterest for ideas and thousands more on store websites looking at their inventory, only to still feel stuck and at step one. My goal was to get that old-time charm-y farmhouse kitchen with open shelves but yet keep the dishwasher (if you know what I mean)
That whole time I’ve been dreaming of starting a homestead with my husband Demetrius and our cat Willy. I've spent 7 (you read that right, we're all on our own journey) years going to school for my degree in interior design. And 8 years doing my own research on "Simple Living", "Country Living", "Victorian Homes" "Minimalism" and lots more.
I guide people, like you, to get your home to the spot you’ve dreamed of, with whatever your country style it's mixed with.
As an interior designer turned homesteader with over 8 years in the online interior design world, I know how to put together the design you’ve been looking for.
“I love my newly designed living room. My friends have been coming over and I have already gotten 3 compliments. I like how all the materials Kaylee picked are dog-friendly. The completed look came out great. I can’t wait to work on the dining room next .”

"Worked with Kaylee to redo my bedroom. She nailed the exact look I wanted and was easy and fun to work with. The whole experience was terrific."
Danielle J
"She helped us pick out a color scheme for our new home and offered a lot of advice on how to make the most out of our new space. She was very personable and professional, and also very conscious of our time."

More About Me? Okay...
From an early age, I was repeatedly transforming my bedroom into a span of different looks. I enjoyed working around the challenges that came with sharing a room with my two sisters, who all have different styles than me. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
After high school, my sister and I spent a week in the countryside of Jamaica where my father grew up. There I saw how simpler the people lived, and even though in poverty it seemed to just be more “quiet”. When I came back I set out to live a more quiet life and to live with less. From there I researched country living, which lead me to research about chickens (the gateway animal to everything else) and so on. And now I’m full-fledged head over heels with homesteading.
Fun Facts About Me
I spent 3 months abroad in Italy learning about historical architecture while there (and traveling as much as I could)
Speaking of travel, I love to travel and have visited 13 countries and hope to add more to that list. My top 3 to date are France, Switzerland, and Italy.
I taught myself how to cook from scratch(-ish)… I’m still learning recipes but I believe I got the basics down. I love to cook and it makes me happy when I’ve perfected a recipe.
I get excited about personal finances (Yes I follow Dave Ramsey). I’ve been into it since a teenager. Although then I did not have much to work with, now I believe I have set up our financial life so that it’s perfect for my family and easy to maintain.
